Maggie Whitemore – Somatic Coach and Body Psychotherapist (SEP, NARM, NeuroAffective Touch)
Initial Therapeutic Education
Awarding Body: ICF - International Coaching Federation
Primary Modality: Somatic Coaching & Body Psychotherapy
My practice is dedicated to helping people become aware of and transform deep-seated relational and behavioural patterns that willpower, intellect, and traditional talk therapies fail to reach in a long-lasting, meaningful way.
I work with individuals, couples, and teams navigating complex PTSD (C-PTSD), anxiety, depression, and debilitating shame, to name just a few examples. In daily life, these underlying patterns frequently manifest as
- chronic physical symptoms and stress related conditions
- loops of burnout and persistent exhaustion,
- dissociation and a lingering sense of disconnection,
- perfectionism and feeling like an impostor about to be found out,
- unfulfilling work, or lukewarm, disappointing relationships,
- a sense of internal void
My work is fundamentally informed by Somatic Experiencing, NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), and NeuroAffective Touch. This clinical foundation is deeply enriched by over 25 years of experience as a transformational and relational coach, alongside my academic background in Health Psychology—focusing specifically on chronic and stress-related health conditions.
I hold a specific interest in the intersection of ADHD and developmental trauma. Having navigated a late-stage diagnosis and severe nervous system dysregulation myself, I know firsthand that addressing these deep-seated developmental patterns through somatic therapy can radically reduce the intensity and challenges of ADHD symptoms. Having walked this path successfully, my practice is rooted in the deep, lived reality of post-traumatic growth rather than just academic theory.
My approach is entirely relational, treating our work together as a collaborative partnership. Gently, and at a pace that respects your unique rhythm and capacity, we bring awareness to the automatic behaviours and protective patterns that often sit entirely outside of conscious awareness. We do not dwell indefinitely on the past; instead, we use it to understand what is constricting you in the present.
By focusing on how life is experienced in the present and bridging the body and mind connection, we restore your vitality, access to the whole emotional range, healthy boundaries, and authentic self-expression.
I offer online and in person sessions in Derby and soon in Cheltenham
